Mark & Brian
It was a fateful day in 1986 when Mark and Brian aired their first show in Birmingham, Alabama. Less than a year later, they were offered positions out west in Los Angeles and moved their show to KLOS. Syndicated on KGON in Portland since 1994, they have developed an extremely devoted and loyal audience. In their 23 years together, they have been awarded Billboard Magazine's "Air Personalities of the Year" twice and have also achieved the radio industry's highest honor: The National Association Broadcasters' Marconi Award for "Air Personalities of the Year." Tune in every morning from 6-10am for the Mark & Brian Morning Show!

Here's a little stuff on me:
I moved to Oregon from Oklahoma in August of 1974 and have never wanted to live anywhere else.
What a great place Oregon is! What they say is true: The Pacific Northwest is God's Country!
I LOVE Rock and Roll! I believe that Rock and Roll is meant to be played LOUD.
I've been on the radio since I was 14 years old, and...let's just say I saw the Beatles on Ed Sullivan, when it happened.
My musical interests are extremely diverse. I like everything from Sinatra to Metallica, Joni Mitchell to Anita Baker.
Rush, Aerosmith, AC-DC, Cream, The Allman Bros., "Early" Kinks, and Steely Dan are huge favorites.
Led Zeppelin's first album is still my favorite album of all time. My favorite Beatles album is "Revolver". Bob Dylan, "Blood on the Tracks"..Cream, "Disraeli Gears"...The Who, "Who's Next".....Jimi Hendrix , "Electric Ladyland"... ...I can go on........ ;-)
I also Love the Blues, I collect shot glasses, Rock and Roll posters, and have quite a few Sun/Moon things around the house. My youngest son, Hank (17), since the age of 2, has claimed that I am the Sun and he is the Moon (never did find out why he felt that way) but it turned into a "thing". My son Jesse (22) says he's the Clouds (because he drifts in and out of our lives) To me, both of my boys are like the Northern Star. Don't know where I'd be without my boys.
I don't know everything and I never will!
I'm computer literate, I play guitar, enjoy a good game of Cribbage, and Batman was my favorite comic book as a kid.
I'm basically a t-shirt/Levi's guy. Chuck Taylor All-Star High Tops, IMHO, are still the best tennis shoes made.
I like photography, I Love NFL Football, Motorcycles, firing up my Weber, and a frosty cold Widmer Hefeweizen!
I'm Honest, Silly, Irreverent, Sincere, Politically Incorrect, and believe a man should always hold on to his "Child Heart".
Now, did I mention I LOVE Rock and Roll?

I've been at KGON since 1977. Obviously it feels like home. I just don't sleep there ... very often.
It all started at a little 5,000 watt "ma & pa" station in Eugene, Oregon called KFMY in 1975 ... stayed there a couple years before coming to KGON and I love it here!
I was born Martin Anthony Christensen New Years Day in Erie, Pennsylvania. I enjoy Golf (I love to be humbled) I'm happy if I break 100. I also love Woodworking: I have a shop full of power tools and all ten fingers, so far so good.
As far as musical tastes, I love Classic Rock (of course) blues, motown ... well just about anything, except country & western and opera ... and since I do play the accordion, I like a good polka once in a while (a few beers helps here).
I also watch a lot of sports on the tube and drink a lot beer while doing it. My favorite teams are the N.Y. Yankees and the Cleveland Browns. (winners and doormats) and of course the Blazers. Add a kettle full of charcoal, something to "Weberize" and a big fat stogie and I am one happy deck lizard.
