Gene Simmons - Banned From a News Network?

November 17, 2017

Personally, I detest the term "Fake News." People use it when they don't agree with certain news stories or think there's a "slant" to the news story. This particular story may be exception that proves the rule - for me. It's about Gene Simmons being banned from Fox News and the Fox Business Network after an interview he did at the network's New York headquarters on Wednesday.

While he was promoting his new book, 'On Power', Simmons was asked by host Maria Bartiromo about the sexual-misconduct allegations against movie mogul Harvey Weinstein. Gene's reply was pretty astute; "The lunatics have taken over the insane asylum when respected business entities such as yourself ask guys that like to stick their tongues out what I think of Harvey Weinstein. Okay, I’m a powerful and attractive man, and what I’m about to say is deadly serious; Men are jackasses. From the time we’re young we have testosterone. I’m not validating it or defending it.”

What he said on the air straightforward and to the point...nothing too controversial there, right? But then, according to the network, off the air they're alleging that Simmons barged into a FoxNews.com meeting and shouted, "Hey chicks, sue me!” before opening his shirt to reveal his chest and stomach, and telling Michael Jackson pedophilia jokes and other disparaging comments. It's those actions the network says that led to him being permanently banned from the building on Sixth Avenue as well as any other Fox News or Fox Business Network facility.

Wait...what?!? If it's true, and at this point I don't believe it is, why in the world would he do that? Sure, Gene Simmons thrives on controversy and admittedly creates it from time to time. But what's being alleged doesn't even make sense! If it is true (and again, at this point I don't think it is) the world has truly gone mad.
