Last June, a federal jury returned a verdict that essentially said Led Zeppelin did not rip off the lesser-known band Spirit. Now, the bands are back in court after Spirit appealed the ruling.

In case you need a refresher, the original suit claimed Zeppelin took its 1971 “Stairway to Heaven” guitar riff from Spirit’s 1968 track “Taurus.”

The appeal was filed by Spirit’s attorney, Francis Malofiy, who claimed there were errors during instructions to the jury that affected the resulting verdict. What kind of errors are we talking? According to Malofiy, the jury wasn’t allowed to listen to the entirety of “Taurus.”

What do you think about the songs' similarities or lack thereof?
