2004- Eric Clapton releases Sessions for Robert J, a D-V-D and C-D package that pays tribute to legendary bluesman Robert Johnson.   1999 - Eric Clapton, Bonnie Raitt, James Taylor, The Lovin' Spoonful, Earth, Wind & Fire and The Moonglows are announced as the new Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductees for 2000.   1996- The space shuttle Columbia returns from the longest-ever shuttle flight of 17 days, 15 hours, and 54 minutes.   1992 - The Supreme Court rejects a Mississippi abortion law which requires women to get counseling and wait 24 hours before terminating a pregnancy.   1987 - At Carnegie Hall in New York, Bruce Springsteen sings "Remember When the Music" at a birthday tribute to its late author, Harry Chapin.   1973- Fleetwood Mac manager Clifford Davis, claiming that he owns the group's name, puts together a bogus lineup and sends them out on tour.   1972 - Apollo 17 is launched from Cape Canaveral.   1967 - Beatles merchandise -- especially replicas of the jackets worn on the Sgt. Pepper album cover -- is the big draw at London's Apple Boutique, which opens on this date.   1945- The microwave oven is patented.   1941- Japanese forces attack Pearl Harbor.   1926 - The gas-operated refrigerator is patented by Electrolux.   1925 - Swimmer Johnny Weissmuller sets a world record in the 150 yard free style with a time of one minute, 25 and 2/5th seconds.
