2002 -A spokeswoman for Raelians, a sect that believes space travelers created humans by cloning, says their group has created the first human clone, a seven-pound baby girl.
 
1998 - Denver's Terrell Davis becomes the fourth N-F-L running back to rush for two-thousand yards in a season.
 
1980- John Lennon & Yoko Ono's Double Fantasy tops the Billboard album chart -- three weeks after John's tragic death. "(Just Like) Starting Over" also tops both the U-S and the U-K charts.
 
1978 - Spain adopts a new constitution and becomes a democracy after 40 years of dictatorship.
 
1977 - Steely Dan gets a platinum album for Aja, which spins off the hit single "Peg."
 
1971 - "Snoopy," "Charlie Brown," "Linus," "Lucy" and "Woodstock" of Charles Schulz' Peanuts comic strip are on the cover of Newsweek magazine.
 
1969 - Led Zeppelin 2 follows The Beatles' Abbey Road, Creedence Clearwater's Green River and the Blind Faith album into the number-one spot on the Billboard chart.

1831- Charles Darwin sets out on a voyage to the Pacific aboard the H-M-S Beagle. Darwin's discoveries during the voyage form the basis of his theory of evolution.
