Ides refers to mid-month on early Roman calendars. March 15th, centuries ago, Julius Caesar was assassinated, so I thought I'd offer up a recipe for a "Bloody Caesar Cocktail", to help you unwind after a long hard week.
6 oz Clamato Juice
1 - 1+1/2 oz vodka (if you don't do alcohol, leave it out)
2 dashes hot sauce
4 dashes Worcestershire sauce
freshly ground pepper
1 celery stalk
rim glasses with celery salt & lime
With St Patrick's Day on Sunday, it should be a good weekend to party. Lots of places in town to celebrate the Irish in ya...See the KGON Club Calendar for a few suggestions. Stay safe and have fun.

There's a lot of new music coming out by classic rock artists. The most exciting thing I've seen/heard in the past few weeks is the new David Bowie video and single for "The Stars (Are Out Tonight". Would love to share it with you. Click below and let me know what you think. Enjoy!
Daylight Saving Time is on, and next week Spring officially begins! Yeah! And there's music, music everywhere.
If you're into the blues, on TV tomorrow night (3/12) at 10pm on PBS a special concert with Muddy Waters and the Rolling Stones. You might wanna set your DVR so you can watch it multiple times.
This Friday (3/15) you can join the "Tell Mama" CD Release party at the Alberta Rose Theatre. It's an Etta James Tribute featuring some of Portland's finest musicians: Duffy Bishop, Rae Gordon, LaRhonda Steele, Lady Kat with the DK Stewart Sextet.
Lotta birthdays to celebrate this week. Among them: James Taylor, Jack Kerouac, Adam Clayton, Billy Crystal, Bret Michaels, Dee Snider, Ry Cooder, Sly Stone, Phil Lesh, Wolfy Van Halen, Nancy Wilson, John Sebastian, Paul Kantner and Scott Gorham - bit ironic that Gorham, the American guitarist with the Irish band Thin Lizzy was born on St. Patrick's Day! Put on a Thin Lizzy album and crank up the headphones!

Glad daylight savings time starts again next weekend. Sure, we’ll lose an hour’s sleep Saturday night, but it’ll be light an hour later at the end of the day. Spring’s right around the corner. Crocus and daffodils are comin’ up! I’m ready.
And don’t forget at the end of the month, Bob Seger and the Silver Bullet Band returns to the RGA. One of my all-time favorites, he never disappoints. You can still win tickets on the KGON contest page.
Had an opportunity to speak with Justin Hayward of the Moody Blues about a new solo album, Moody Blues tour plans and even a Moody Blues Cruise. We’ll get that interview posted tomorrow for you to hear.
