Things to do August 28-30

Things to do in the Portland/Vancouver area (and beyond):
  • Thurs, Aug 27-Sun Aug 30- WinCo Foods Portland Open, Pumpkin Ridge Golf Course.
  • Thursday, August 27th-First day of school for the Portland Public School District. Other districts start at different times.  Vancouver Schools go back on September 2nd.
  • Fri August 28-Mon Sept 7-The 150th Oregon State Fair!
  • Fri-Sat, Aug 28-29-Hood to Coast Run, from Timberline Lodge to the Broadway Turnaround in Seaside.  1050 teams of 12, 197 miles long.
  • Sat Aug 29, Naked Goddess Swim, 9pm: The Willamette River in Downtown Portland….really! 
  • Sat Aug 29, Viva Tequila PDX-Jupiter Hotel.
  • Sunday, August 30th- Preserve the Lehrer, A Benefit Event!  5PM - 8PM.  Featuring The Strange Tones, The Knuckleheads, Lloyd Jones, Ken DeRouchie Band, LaRhonda Steele, Arietta Ward, Lisa Mann, Karen Lovely and some possible surprises.

Things to do in Portland August 15-16

Here's some more fun Summer things to do this weekend.  I know that the weather will be a bit cooler, but for some people that's a good thing, right?  Hey, I'm thankful for the free water after seeing last month's bill!  Have a great weekend!
  • Now through Sunday Aug 16th- The 146th Annual Clark County Fair in Ridgefield, WA
  • Tues, August 11-Sat August 16- Portland Burger Week! $5 burgers from some of Portland's finest restaurants. 
  • Thur-Sun, Aug 13-16-North American Organic Brewers Festival, Overlook Park(rescheduled from the original June Date).
  • Sat Aug 15- Sun Aug 16-Multnomah Days-The Southwest neighborhood’s annual summer festival includes a parade, music and family fun!
  • Sat, August 15: Corgi Walk in the Pearl, 400 Corgis, Costumes, Benefit for Oregon Humane Society & Corgi Rescue.
  • Sat, August 15-Squirrel Fest in Longview-Featuring the music of WAR, Lydia Pense and Cold Blood, and Unchained (Van Halen tribute). Event starts at 11am and music starts at 5.  Longview Civic Circle
  • Sat August 15- The First Annual Scrub Run benefiting Doernbecher Children's Hospital, St. Josef's Winery in Canby.
  • Sat, August 15- 10 to 4pm  PDX Adult Soapbox Derby,  Mt Tabor Park, SE 60th Ave & SE Salmon St, Portland, OR
  • Sat, August 15: Float-A-Palooza @ Barton County Park | Park N Float Shuttle, 10 a.m.- 7 p.m.
  • Sat, Aug 15, 8pm to 2am- The Pancakes & Booze Art Show, Hawthorne Theater.   Portland’s Largest Underground Art Show featuring over 75 emerging artists, Free pancake bar, live body painting, live audio performances.  21  AND OVER.
  • Sun, August 16: Hawthorne Street Fair in SE Portland | Beer Garden, Longest Running Street Fair in PDX, Live Music & More!
  • Sun August 16, Portland India Festival, 11 a.m. – 9 p.m. | Free | All Ages Pioneer Courthouse Square.  Dance, music, food.
  • Now through September 7th-The Science of Ripley’s Believe it or Not at OMSI.
